About Me

My name is Andie Nare. I'm programmer and artist working in games professionally!

I got started making games when I received a copy of Game Maker for Christmas. The magic 10-year-old me felt when I completed that "click the clown" tutorial sparked a fire that carries me to this day.

I love working in games because there's so much potential in the medium, and as a creative there's endless skills to learn and experiment with.

My professional work has been as a generalist software engineer, doing everything from gameplay to tools to porting to tech art. I've worked in Unity and Godot, shipping games on PC platforms, Nintendo Switch, and even the Playdate!

My Work

Here's an assortment of things I've made or contributed to in some way.

Professional Work

Free Stars: Children of Infinity: The sequel to The Ur-Quan Masters, by Pistol Shrimp Games.

Beast Breaker: A turn-based hybrid of Peggle and Monster Hunter, by Vodeo Games.

Quantum Phantom Basketball: A story-driven 1v1 basketball fighting game, by Brenda Arts.

Hobby Projects

hyperglass: A prototype for a time trial fps where you're always running forward.

The Crystalline Abyss: An unfinished turn-based strategy game about surviving in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event.

hacking game prototypes: A pair of prototypes for a hacking game inspired by Netrunner.

capsule collector: A small arcade game made for the first luxe game jam.

color slide: A minimalist puzzle game inspired by the weirdly common ice sliding puzzles in RPGs.
